This is project game.run() - pronounced game dot run.  The game is inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog in that being good at the game rewards the player with speed.

My responsibilities in working for game.run() are:

game.run() is a side-scrolling hack ‘n’ slash game where the events on screen are timed to music in the stage.  The player can use sword attacks to kill enemies in his path and must outrun destruction.

The current build of game.run() is in Game Maker: Studio.  That’s the fourth engine that we’ve moved the game to because of various issues with either team members moving on to other projects or engine limitations.  But the game development is running smoothly now.


Because of changes in the team structure, and the necessity of the situation; I have taken to the role of programming the game.  Learning to code in GML has been an adventure.  I’m having a blast, but it’s tough going - learning how to code as I make the game.
